Employed Coach Strikes Out On Her Own
Hey Coach! Coach Dave Buck here.
We’ll be talking with CV Member Coach Kim DuBrul on Monday on CV Caffeine (11/24/08 at 1 PM ET). Kim was employed as a full time Coach for 7 years. During that time she averaged 40 client calls per week! That’s a lot. All the while playing the “Stay at home mom” game.
Early this year she decided to leave it all behind (the Coaching job that is) and strike out on her own. She has learned a lot from the challenge.
Here are a few things we’ll be talking about:
1) Kim was a track star in high school. How does her experience as an athlete effect the way she coaches?
2) Coaching 40 clients per week is intense. And something YOU may aspire to. I know I loved it when my practice was like that, but it did get a little crazy sometimes. What did she learn about staying focused and present when you go from client to client to client. Any strategies to share?
3) The company she coached for had the philosophy that the Coach is 100% responsible for the clients’ results. This created extreme pressure on a daily basis. This is a controversial point in the Coaching industry right now. Who is responsible, the client or the coach? We’ll find out what Kim has to say. And of course I’ll my 99 cents worth!
4) One benefit her former company had was a solid methodology. On her own she decided she needed to create a unique method for working with her clients. We’ll find out how she has put together a unique and compelling approach.
Have a question for Kim? Please add your comment here and I’ll weave it into the show on Monday 11/24.
